Hello Everyone!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. We are going to continue to celebrate our famous people month and learn about another exciting person this week. Although it is Black History Month, we want to touch on the importance of all those who believed everyone should be treated equally. We are looking at individuals who show determination, perseverance, courage, faith and strength. We are going to learn about more individuals who made a difference in the air!! We will be focusing on Amelia Earhart and the Wright Brothers to prepare for our trip to the Air and Space Museum in DC on Thursday!

In Math we are going to learn how to borrow using 2 and 3 digit subtraction. This will be a new concept we are working on so please continue to practice this skill at home whenever possible. The more math they do the stronger their math skills will become especially with basic math facts! We use sayings which help us learn the tricks..... "More on top, No need to stop!" and "More on the floor, go next door and ask for 10 more," Please ask your children to show you how this cool riddle works!

For religion, we are celebrating Lent! We will be focusing on what the 40 Days represent and why Lent is so important to the Catholic Religion.

Have a great last week of February everyone!

Please review the homework assignment with your child and make sure they are using their best handwriting practices each night =)

Please feel free to email me with any questions, comments or concerns anytime.

Don't forget to collect your Campbell, Progressive, Cereal and other Boxtop and education labels!!

Have a wonderful week,

Ms. Thaden
